Experience Summary
Extensive Project Management experience, including leading multi-disciplined teams to: oversee the activities of a major engineering company, design grassroots gas plants that involved extraction, fractionation, amine and ethane dehydration units; gas plant expansion and removal projects; and refinery modifications. Work included preparing material cost and man-hour estimates, project schedules, project contracts and reports.
Process/Mechanical Design and Review
Process and mechanical design expertise includes evaluating design alternatives, developing preliminary process designs for large gas plants, and providing the initial design, sizing and operating philosophies for major processing equipment and utility systems. Work also includes creating operating guides and reports, conducting HAZOP studies, and developing SIMOPS matrix for simultaneous drilling and operating scenarios.
Troubleshooting
Trouble shoot operating issues for numerous types of equipment, monitor process unit performances, conduct efficiency studies, and simulation and optimization analysis for process systems and equipment.
Operations
Operations expertise includes overseeing large, multi-discipline teams to operate waste oil facilities and truck fleet optimization, including overhauling health and safety programs, and ensuring compliance with all operating permits and environmental regulations.
Refineries
Extensive refinery expertise includes managing and implementing all refinery activities, including maintenance, construction, modifications, troubleshooting, strategic plan development, utility plant operations, training, and ensuring maximum product yields and optimum operating conditions are achieved/exceeded. Experience also includes developing plans for refinery closures and participating in refinery sale processes; interacting with government, media and employee groups; and managing large capital and expense budgets ($10-15M annually).
Pharmaceutical
Manufactured pharmaceutical products (under cGMP – current Good Manufacturing Practice Regulations),co-coordinated activities with quality control and assurance, research and development departments, and co-coordinated and implemented various capital projects (e.g., USP water system, reactor replacement and other equipment upgrades). Also responsible for purchasing and inventorying all chemicals and supplies, developing standard operating procedures, and resolving employee issues through improved communication processes and performance standards.
