Electrical/Controls Engineer (Intermediate)
COMPETITION #: CEI30-07-11
Potential candidates must at a minimum be registered as a professional engineer in Alberta, Canada, and within three year's time may be required to register in the following Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Ontario.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Provide engineering design guidance to project team members to ensure compliance with Client specific corporate engineering specifications, guidelines, practices, etc.
- Review Vendor packages to ensure compliance with project specifications for process vessels, process equipment and process piping.
- Engineering design of low, medium and high voltage electrical power distribution systems for single and three phase systems hardware components (e.g., single line diagrams, switch gear, motor control centers, contactor panels and lighting)
- Engineering design of automation/control electrical systems (e.g., cable schedules, cable tray routing, building electrical layouts, junction boxes, control panels, control hardware system I/O termination diagrams and motor control circuits)
- Engineering design of process and instrumentation control elements (e.g., instrument device specifications and sizing)
- Engineering design of shutdown key drawings, control system narratives, design audit of P&ID drawings, etc.
- Review Vendor packages to ensure compliance with project specifications for electrical, instrumentation and control functionality.
- Co-ordinate and expedite design data and materials with third party engineering firms.
- Hardware evaluation, selection and procurement of electrical, instrumentation and control system materials.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of quality principles, work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and possess professional written and oral communication skills.
Sr. Electrical/Mechanical CAD Designer

Potential candidates must have proven AutoCAD design drafting skills. As the selected candidate you will be responsible for electrical design and drafting, electrical layout, I/O schematic drawings, control panel design, cable scheduling, layout drawings and power distribution.
The ideal candidate will have minimum three years experience and possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Oil and gas plant experience
- Knowledge of P&IDs for electrical layout developments
- Familiar with the latest revision of CEC Part 1, C22.1
- Minimum proficiency - AutoCAD 4 or 5
- Ability to multi-task; strong organizational and time management skills
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Thorough understanding of quality principles
- Work in a fast-paced environment with ability to meet deadlines
- Professional written and oral communication skills
- Minimum five years' experience
