Senior/Intermediate Process Engineer
Caber’s Senior Process Engineers plan, coordinate and execute projects to meet client’s goals, schedules and costs.
We have an immediate opening in Calgary for a Senior Process Engineer. You will be part of a team that performs process and mechanical design engineering and project management of custom designed packages for natural gas compression and gas processing.
A minimum of ten to fifteen years experience with a broad range of process, acid gas, refrigeration, deep cut, sweetening, oil treating knowledge, field time, start-ups and troubleshooting is required. A P. Eng. designation is required.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Provide engineering design guidance to project team members to ensure compliance with Client specific corporate engineering specifications, guidelines, practices, etc.
- Knowledge of Hysys, VMG and control systems is a major asset.
- Review Vendor packages to ensure compliance with project specifications for process vessels, process equipment and process piping.
- Size and select process equipment.
- Configure and set up simulation software to perform a case analysis and verify and validate design criteria for oil and gas processes.
- Assist in conceptual and engineering design of process PFD’s and project P&ID drawings.
- Assist in performing design audits of P&ID drawings, risk event analysis, operational HAZOP exercises, etc.
- Develop process control strategy and shutdown narratives, etc.
- Interface with customer/field personnel for process performance testing, process/equipment troubleshooting and plant start-ups.
- Training & mentoring junior personnel
In addition to the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate must have a thorough understanding of quality principles, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines, as well as have professional written and oral communication skills.
